Here for sale is a 1975 Honda CB550K. More details, including payment, below. A quick rundown of the highlights:9,377.4 original miles. I have put less than 700 miles on it while I have owned itBeautiful orange flake color - has held up really wellDelkevic 4-into-1 Stainless Steel HeadersSupertrapp Universal Silencer Tank has a few nicks in the paint, but no dentsNo rips or tears in the seat All lights work, as do the horn and electric start Regular maintenance - oil and filter changed every season, 3,000 mile service performed when purchased New carb seals installed before I purchased itNew battery installed a year agoTires have good tread, but are oldI purchased this motorcycle two years ago from a gentleman in Illinois. He was selling a lot of 10 CB750's that he purchased at an estate sale, and a friend of his (the original owner of this CB550) asked him to sell this motorcycle for him along with the others previously mentioned. While the original owner's friend was in possession of it, he had the seals replaced on all four carbs, and put about 400 or 500 miles on it. I found it on Craigslist and picked it up.
During my period of ownership, I have done several things to the motorcycle. I performed the 3,000 mile service to make sure everything was in order, which includes setting the timing, checking points gaps, valve lash, cam chain tension, and some other things. The oil has been dutifully changed every season. The petcock has also been replaced with a brand new one. I've replaced the battery, and kept it on a tender. I also replaced the turn signal relay, as it burned out shortly after I bought it. The bike originally came with 4-into-4 straight pipes, which were absurdly loud (sadly, the original K-style pipes were traded or sold at some point before I came along). So, I also installed a set of Delkevic 4-into-1 Stainless Steel headers, and a Supertrapp muffler (links below - all in all a $500+ investment). https://4into1.com/delkevic-4into1-stainless-steel-headers-honda-cb500-cb550/https://www.dimecitycycles.com/supertrapp-4-inch-aluminum-universal-silencer.html
These headers and exhaust have completely changed the bike. It now feels much more refined and frankly, it runs better. The sound from the Supertrapp is great: subdued at lower speeds, but it can really open up when you get on it. Now you can actually hear the cam start to wind up when you get above 4k RPM. As a younger guy, I can now understand why people thought these 4-cylinder Honda's really were superbikes in the early 70's - the sound and experience is amazing. However, that brings us to why I am selling the bike. Like I mentioned above, I'm a younger guy, and I'm about to graduate college this spring. I love this bike, and I'm sure I'll regret selling it, but I will need to pay these loans off and a motorcycle doesn't necessarily help with that. PAYMENT and SHIPPING: I accept cash in hand, or PayPal. If you purchase the bike, I'll need a $500 deposit within 24 hours to my PayPal. I will send the account information once the the purchase has been made through eBay. Shipping arrangements are up to you.
