1980 Harley Davidson FXWG Wide Glide with original paint flamed gas tank. This is a great numbers matching rare project with original paint gas tanks in great shape. This is one of the most iconic bikes Harley has ever produced and are now collectors bikes that will only appreciate over time and a great bike to rebuild. This project has all the major components in great shape. You will need parts to complete obviously but they are easily obtainable and not high dollar parts. The frame is perfect and I see no missing tabs with perfect vin pad and original factory down tube stickers, the engine is pretty complete and parts are in excellent condition. The case’s are original matching number cases with perfect numbers matching vin number. I see no no previous repairs to them and none needed that I see, even the alternator ring is perfect (a lot are chipped) these cases look perfect with original flywheels and rods. I would recommend a rebuild, it would be crazy to not go ahead and replace bushings, original matching heads look to be in great shape, original loaded rocker boxes, original cylinders, also comes with the original transmission to the bike and it also looks to be in excellent condition, front end is also in great shape. You will need primary set up also exhaust, dash cover, speedometer (comes with one but not the correct one-1980 speedometers are easy to source and not expensive, you will also need a black wide glide front fender, rear is there and appears to be original paint. Hardest part to find will be original exhaust & seat but they are out there and can be located and can always go with repop’s or drag pipes if the original pipes take a minute to locate. Also make sure the to view the one photo that shows the oil tank, brake side mount and brake pedal, and a couple of the chrome battery, horn, coil covers, that is everything that I have with this project. Everything else pretty generic from a ease to find standpoint and not necessarily year specific or expensive parts or more so than other shoveled models. The hardest and most collectible part is the famous gas tanks (No I will not sell seperate unless your offering silly money) I would rather keep these with the rest of the bike. They have been with them for 50 years and it would be a-shame to separate them now. These original paint tanks are in excellent condition with no dents that I see most of the top scratches will be covered by speedo dash and lower dash. They have had 2 mounts repaired but they were done very well and will not be noticed mounted and really done well as to not damage the original paint or minimally the one area around the repair had a paint repair but done pretty well. They also look to have the original stickers on the bottom on each half but they are no longer legible. Please whoever gets this Do Not Paint These Tanks. They are very valuable in this original condition. Please view all of the photos very carefully for the exact condition and exactly what you are getting with this project. The photos act as the description so please view photos carefully. Comes with nothing more and nothing less than photos show. This also comes with clear correct North Carolina Title non-notarized if you live in a notary required state you will need to know a notary. If that is a problem please do not hit the buy it now. Also please have money in hand and ready to transfer or come pick up and pay in cash. I require a $300 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auctions end and the balance paid within the week. PayPal is not accepted for final payment. Cash in hand, bank transfer or certified check are the accepted payments. Shipping is 100% the buyers responsibility to line up and pay for. I am right for room. If you need shipping options or help just ask. I can refer you to some options depending on where you live. Thanks and if any questions feel free to just ask. The photos should tell the story and I could only add 24 to the listing but took many more. I even doubled up some of the photos so I could show both case numbers and both head numbers. It was hard to figure out which to use but tried to use the most relevant ones but feel free to ask if you would like to see more I would be glad to get you whatever you would like just let me know. The engine stand does not come with this bike I used for the photo only, thanks. This my personal one. This is a great project and will be a high dollar bike that will only go p over the years once completed and well worth the effort. This is located in Wilmington North Carolina.
