This auction is for what has to be the very best example of an MT5 left in existence. Registered in February of 1988 this bike was only used by its 16 year old original owner to go to college for one year before he was old enough for car. Was put away in dry garage from 1989 until we acquired the bike in 2015.We cleaned it, ran it, started it, (second kick), and put it away in storage racking until this week. The bike has done genuine incredible 3,900 miles only. It comes with old style V5, original owners manual, service book (with PDI stamp and one service stamp), toolkit which has never been out of toolkit holder on bike, and even the original bill of sale from Aye-Gee motorcycles in Kent."Time-warp condition" is an over-used cliche to describe vehicle but really, this lovely little bike would fit that description. Of course after almost 28 years of inactivity, the bike will require recommissioning before being used on the road again, there was small oil leak from the oil delivery pipe from oil reservoir to oil pump, when standing, but this would be easy to replace. When we ran it two years ago, the bike ran perfectly with engine, clutch and gears performing as you would expect. Cosmetically the bike is almost blemish-free, all the warning stickers are still on it, it is on its original tyres, there is some light corrosion on the wheel rims but this will likely polish off. Nothing has been touched on this bike since new. You could not really restore one to this level, after all, vehicles are only ever original once!Really hope this bike goes to good home, it is almost museum quality.Ideal for the enthusiast, usable sixteener-special!
