Welcome to the sale of my Honda SH300i scooter. Just serviced, so fully synthetic oil, air and oil filters
Honda's fuel injected SH scooters are officially the best selling scooters in Italy...Which think speaks volumes about how good these bikes are as the Italians know good scooter....After all, they invented them! Around Rome, you'll see more SH'S than anything else, mostly ridden by immaculately dressed businessmen. You keep your Gucci shoes clean on an SH! They are superb at nipping through traffic, are quiet, sophisticated, very economical, extremely comfortable and at speed, handle brilliantly. it is of course fully automatic and essentially has just two controls, the throttle twist grip on the right hand bar, and the combined ABS brake system on the left. UK law means the right lever is actually front-only brake, also with ABS but it isn't needed generally as the combined brake left lever does everything you need. I bought this one to combine the jobs previously done by my faithful Honda Innova 125 commuter, and my BMW 750 'high days and holidays' bike...An effortless 'go to work' traffic scalpel but weekend tourer with attitude...A Job it does perfectly.. However, no one said we have to do the right thing all the time so I'm getting another 40 year old motorcycle...Clearly the utter reliability and sheer ability of the Honda is lost on this particular child of the British bike era!
The SH300i will cruise at 80 mph easily and even with the screen on will exceed 90mph as it has derivative of the stunning Honda 280cc twin cam four valve enduro engine which produces nearly 30 bhp. It carries two with great comfort and critically for me, not only has the ability to punch past any dawdling traffic on the open road, but has blindingly powerful car quality headlight...Something the little Innova was sorely lacking and with the latest generation of oncoming car headlights proving significant problem if they don't dip, genuine life saver.... The first thing did when bought it was have new drive belt and variator fitted...it didn't need it particularly, but like to start from point of perfect maintenance. It also had Mobil fully synthetic oil and new filter fitted, despite just having had service... I then managed to track down new original 2012 Honda screen complete with bar-end shields and the original factory top box for this year. genuine replacement lock set with two new keys sorted the mint condition box out and not only does the lock secure the box lid, it also allows it to be removed and carried like valise so you can carry the entire thing with its built in handle straight into hotel. The bike has dealer fitted twin setting heated grips with neat little LED tell-tale light on the right hand shield next to the switch and this is the model with ABS and linked brakes too.the screen is very good and completely isolates the rider from the wind and rain, with the bar end extension shields keeping the chill off and allowing the two setting heated grips to keep you nice and warm even in freezing conditions. Tyres are excellent, barely worn. It has covered an average of around 3000 miles year since manufacture, the majority being on dry sunny jaunts and as consequence condition is as good as 2012 bike with that low mileage can be It averages around 80 mpg in normal brisk use and holds around £8 of petrol, giving range of around 120-150 miles on tank. it has digital fuel gauge as part of the comprehensive and easy to read-at-a-glance instrument panel and there's digital clock too, which is nice... The SH300i combines the nippiness and maneuverability of 125 commuter with the power, stability and comfort of an old school tourer and is equally at home on busy commute as it would be cruising the roads of Northern France, two-up with luggage. They are true all-rounders and this one is fully accessorised to do either job. Delivery to the mainland UK is £150 unless you can arrange it yourself and do it cheaper. Of course collection from the Salisbury area is also an option. Comes with full original documentation.
