1970 Royal Enfield Interceptor MkII - relisted after a buyer changed his mind! A rare, low mileage MkII Interceptor - one of the best British 'Big Bikes' of the day. These handsome, powerful bikes were hard to find even back in the '70's (mainly due to a lack of dealers stocking them - everyone had Triumph, BSA and Norton, but few sold RE's). My Interceptor is showing only 3,196 miles from new - which I obviously can't verify, but I do believe is correct. She is unrestored but still in lovely 'survivor' condition. The frame paint is original, the chrome tank is in great condition and she has her original Dunlop chrome wheel rims. As far as I can tell, she has not been messed with. There is a very small dint in the tank which my camera can't pick up which could be dressed out by one of the painless dent guys but it hasn't worried me. According to her first owner (who I bought the bike from) she had an engine change by the dealer early in the '70's and is currently running engine number 1B 1469. The original crankcases come with the bike (number 1B 1404) so that you can rebuild her to be matching numbers, if that's important for the new owner. My Interceptor is fitted with all(?) of the factory optional equipment including an oil cooler, sump 'bash plate', air filter and passenger grab rail. And after sitting for 6 months or so, I 'tickled' the carbs, freed the clutch and she started first kick - not too bad for a 50 year old classic bike.... So she starts, runs and rides very well - and makes a great sound. Comes with a copy of the Riders Handbook, spare gaskets and seals, spare keys and a couple of workshop tools. The bike will need new tyres as they show age cracks in the sidewalls, but apart from that she's good to go - and show! Any questions and inspections are welcome - but before the end of the auction please. And thanks for looking. Lastly, if you'd like to buy the Interceptor, please ensure that you have permission from (delete as necessary) your wife, husband, partner, significant other, bank manager - and yourself.
